Legacy Mentoring Group Overview
More information:
Principle 1 - Reclaiming Who God Created You to Be!
Who am I? What is my purpose? Often times we identify ourselves by what we do, rather than who we are in Christ. We will look at how GOD sees us as HIS beautiful creation, fashioned, known, and loved before the foundation of the world. Each of us has been created to make a significant difference in our lifetime. When we clearly understand our identity in CHRIST, our purpose will begin to unfold. God is CRAZY about you and HE does have a GRAND plan for your life.
Resource
- Identity Theft, book by Mike Breaux
Principle 2 - Understanding and Loving Me!
The adventure begins by discovering together who we are and how we can be the most effective person in all our relationships. We must understand our roles, our values, our gifts, strengths and worship pathway. This personal discovery will bring new freedom.
Resources
- DISC profile, Sacred Pathways Assessment, Now Discover Your Strengths, book by Donald Clifton
Principle 3 - Personal Disciplines
Personal habits will either hinder you or provide momentum for your personal growth. The focus of this principle will be habits that will allow you to accomplish much for your own development as well as the influence on others.
We will establish a prayer notebook and journal for the purpose of remembering all that God is doing in our lives. This will be the written "Journey of my Heart". We will practice the discipline of renewing our mind according to Romans 12:2.
Resource
- Disciplines of the Beautiful Woman, book by Anne Ortlund
Principle 4 - Fruitfulness
We will begin identifying people in our circle of influence for whom we can purposefully begin serving, encouraging, and praying. We will learn about living from a pure heart.
Resource
- Secrets of the Vine, by Bruce Wilkinson
Principle 5 - Time Management
Your time must be understood, managed, and intentional in order to experience success and personal fulfillment.
- Create a tool whereby we evaluate all of the time we spend on different activities,
- "Fast" from activities that are non-productive, and
- Journal our feelings about the time that has been either gained or lost.
Resource
- Time Management from the Inside Out, book by Julie Morganstern
Principle 6 - Life Purpose (2 months)
Your life mission must be articulated, defined, and written down in order to evaluate your activities as well as your accomplishments. It will become your written reason for being. Without a mission you will never have the energy, excitement, or passion to accomplish that for which you have been created. This will be the hardest exercise of all! The time will be spent in an exercise of personal evaluation and reflection. Time will be needed to think, write, and pray.
- The Path, book by Laurie Beth Jones
Principle 7 - Spiritual Disciplines
Resource
- The Celebration of Discipline, book by Richard Foster
Principle 8 - Celebration
We will celebrate together with another Legacy group all that God has done over the last nine months. It will be a time to present in public some of the assignments that have been worked on privately. It will be a time to pray as we go out and now seek to influence and impact another life. It will be a time of fun, relaxation, and celebration.
...A very big defining moment in your spiritual journey... All for His glory!
